"The Ideas Bowl" Winthrop Court Community House

The Broken Teacup Society started as an art program repurposing materials and sharing ideas at Winthrop Court Community House in Ottawa, Ontario. In partnership with WCCH and Amethyst Women's Addiction Centre, artists Christine Mockett and Liz Dao have expanded this program into a shareable art program model.

The art program model includes workshop descriptions, ideas for adapting activities for all abilities (including those facing health, financial and circumstance barriers to participating in regular arts programming), supply sources and inspiration. This model is available free for community health centres and social service organizations to use across Ontario, to provide participants with free arts programming.

Click on the shareable workshops tab above for a series of downloadable ideas for art classes, including papermaking, recyclart, painting, storytelling, sculpture and more. Participants learn diverse art skills, expand their community art interests, request class topics of interest to them and share their own creative skills.

We work zero garbage, source materials locally and encourage turning almost anything into art materials, making creativity accessible to as many people as possible. We share our ideas for free and welcome your ideas, input and comments.
